We are now in Phase Four - - - - - Made possible by the Long Beach Community Foundation and John S. and James L. Knight Foundation

Connected Corridor

The Mission: Transforming neighborhoods into one community by creating connectivity and empowering stakeholders from the top of the town to downtown.

The Vision: Create a “Blueprint for the Future” for implementation on other Long Beach corridors.
  • The “Connected Corridor” is made possible by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation through the Long Beach Community Foundation.
  • Leadership Long Beach will be the “Foreman” of the Atlantic Avenue Corridor Project, what we are calling the Connected Corridor.”
  • Leadership Long Beach is now set for the opportunity to assist in “connecting the dots” of other people’s efforts by enhancing, supporting, and encouraging their civic engagement while identifying the capacity building opportunities along the Atlantic Avenue Corridor.
  • Our long term goals include the opportunity to implement changes that can be replicated in other corridors of the city and sustainable change in the targeted areas.
  • The short term goals of this project will include increased community leadership and civic engagement, better visibility and improved community awareness. This will be accomplished in a short working timeline by seeking “the low hanging fruit” along the corridor, avoiding duplication and avoiding recycled projects. Instead, we are building from innovative and successful ideas set in motion by grassroots efforts, and which include the “people resources” as a first philosophy.
“Transforming, Connecting and Empowering Community on the Atlantic Corridor.”
